When/If I get to this stage can I e-mail you and cry on your internet shoulder?

You know - i've wanted to post back to you and tell you that I thought of you when I was posting my sappy, patriotic posting back a few posts ago. I knew that you would understand how I felt...isn't it funny? I really think homeschooling just builds it in us.

you're a blessing!Amelia Antwilerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17584920083164732963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2757189962843231486.post-57481915856143057842008-02-05T17:08:00.000+10:302008-02-05T17:08:00.000+10:30I am SO excited to hear that your manuscript has b...I am SO excited to hear that your manuscript has been completed and is in the editing stage! Good for you!! It's interesting to hear more about the editing process. I've only had to edit small stuff and when I was in the printing business, we did more proofreading than editing. I hate doing the same thing twice so reworking anything is a chore for me but I know it has to be done. I am QUEEN of over-wording - or had you noticed? ;)

I hope the editing phase goes well for you and look forward to hearing more about your project. You have been such a positive influence on my "writing" life. Thanks!

Kate

P.S. Not totally, but I often find it hard to write or to start writing because I don't have it just right in my head yet.

I suppose were any of my work to get into the hands of an editor, I would be surprised at the amount that still needs editing!carriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02449987730223591945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2757189962843231486.post-73286105127062156802008-02-03T13:09:00.000+10:302008-02-03T13:09:00.000+10:30Reading the first part of this post I was thinking...Reading the first part of this post I was thinking- that's goodbye to hours of hard work, which is exactly what you said. Since I'm not a writer I'd find it terribly difficult to strike out hours of work, but I imagine as you develop as a writer it gets easier. Something I had never thought of before! This post certainly got me thinking!Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00307333354110021492noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2757189962843231486.post-31458014920284028842008-02-02T15:27:00.000+10:302008-02-02T15:27:00.000+10:30I am amazed you do so well with your editor's cuts...I am amazed you do so well with your editor's cuts. I'm not sure I would be as comfortable with that. Maybe because I had a horrible experience when I was 14 and a poem I submitted to the class yearbook was completely rewritten except for the first two lines. I never found out who did that.

Like you, I do a lot of cutting and trimming on my own. Then I ask members of the family to have a look for clarity and grammar and re-edit based on their reactions. I'm turning Marina into an editor. :o)

Excellent post Paula!

Peace and Laughter,
Cristinajugglingpayneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10921293051956441475noreply@blogger.com
